Money Reading Emails

Well it was bound to happen, right? A post about making money by reading emails…I mean it is the name of this blog after all.

Here’s the thing: People get suspicious of this concept because it sounds too good to be true. There are definitely some scuzzy sites out there with less than noble motives, but there are also some legitimately great sites. There are just a few things you have to understand before you set out trying to make money by reading emails or filling out surveys:

  1. Not all of these are a scam. This is advertising in it’s purest form! A company is going to pay a website a certain amount of money to send you an email. Then, the website is going to pay you to read it. There will probably be some links to click that will take you back to the company, hence getting their product in front of your eyeballs.
  2. Some of these are a scam (I know I sound like a flip-flopper, but hear me out). Do. Your. Homework! Pay attention to things like fees. If a site is asking you to pay a fee – no matter how small – be highly suspicious. Remember, you are the one whose supposed to be making money. Also, look for this: “https” in the url address bar. That means the site is secure. That’s just good web surfing advice generally speaking but when you have to tell a company your personal info so they can pay you, you need to make sure they are secure.
  3. This is not going to make you rich. If you’re looking for the goose that lays golden eggs – or the golden eggs – keep looking. This ain’t your cash cow. But it is a quick, fun way to make a quick buck or two.

With that in mind, the next few posts on this blog will highlight some of the more reputable places you can earn money by reading emails or filling out surveys.

The first one I’d like to show you is InboxDollars. This is an online rewards program. Basically, thousands of companies pay InboxDollars to promote their products to it’s members. So when you sign up to become a member of InboxDollars, you get paid to visit the various company’s websites and complete an offer.

What I love:

  • Most of the offers are free.
  • You get paid via check. I like this because I don’t have to give them my banking info.
  • There is no fee to join Inbox Dollars
  • When you do join, you get $5 right off the bat!

What I don’t love:

  • You have to earn a total of $30 before you can cash out (but it’s pretty quick and easy to do, so maybe I shouldn’t complain so much).

How to sign up: – Then, just fill out the form and you are on your way!

Once signed up, there are a couple ways to get your $30 quick and easy.

  1. Free offers. Just pick an offer, do what they ask you to do, and boom…easy money. For example, you can sign up to get a free Heart Healthy recipe and get $0.25 in a matter of seconds. Or signing up with MySurvey through them will score you a quick $2.

Spend about an hour and you could make $30 really quick. I think I spent about 50 minutes there and made $32. Not a bad hours work, I’d say.

The down side is you can’t repeat an offer, but check back every couple weeks for new offers and you’ll be good.

2. The Quicker Way. Free trial offers. WARNING: these involve a lot more risk so make sure you pick a reputable company and read the fine print before you agree to sign up.

The risks are higher but so are the payouts. For example, American Cellars Wine Club is willing to fork over $20 if you sign up for their trial offer.

Well, that’s the first of many ideas. Please keep in mind, results are going to vary! You won’t become a millionaire doing this but you can make some pocket change relatively quick.
